Join Ironwood Tree Experience for a 1.5-mile walking exploration along a section of the Chuk-son Trail. This eye-opening experience highlights Tucson’s natural and historical stories from the El Tiradito Shrine in Barrio Viejo to the base of Sentinel Peak (“A” Mountain).
The Chuk-son Trail is created and guided by ITE Youth Action Corps members that meanders along the fascinating avenues, arroyos, and alleys of downtown Tucson. ITE Youth leaders will tell stories of the historical and natural happenings from the past and the present, and share what makes our place in the Sonoran Desert special.
9:00 AM – Walk begins at the SW corner of S Main Ave. and W Simpson St. (near El Minuto Cafe). 418 S. Main Avenue.
11:30 AM – walk ends at Mission Garden – at Mission Ln and S Grande Ave. (near base of “A” Mountain).
