Sylvia Castillo

Grade/Subject: Spanish class 5th thru 8th grade
School/Org: Mexicayotl Academy Nogales
Fun Nature Connection: I love forests, mountains, snow, and fall. I really enjoy connection with nature because this brings me peace and nature always gives us a show. I love the sunrise and sunset, looking at stars, the moon, etc. I like desert plants, like cactus and succulent. My favorite animal is the hummingbird- I think it’s so spiritual.

Mireya Murrieta

Grade/Subject: 7th & 8th Grade ELA & Math
School/Org: Mexicayotl Academy Nogales
Fun Nature Connection: My favorite plant is Angel Wing Begonia since it’s a plant that doesn’t die easily. My favorite animal is the horse. Horses are strong, intelligent, sensitive, and make you feel free when you ride them. My favorite place to go is to a ranch. At a ranch you get to see animals interact with nature and people. You breathe fresh air and feel calm. Something I learned lately was that in order to plant a garden, the manure should stay in the ground for 3 months before planting.
