This program is limited to 10 participants.

Bringing the power, inspiration and beauty of nature to the next generation takes a community… a BIG community. We have worked with youth in the field from Costa Rica to Congress Street, and from remote backpacking expeditions to urban discovery walks. ITE wants middle and high school teachers and school administrators to develop the techniques, teamwork, tools and confidence to expand the curriculum beyond the classroom.

“Teachers Gone Wild” professional development is an overnight program that takes place entirely off campus, in the field, utilizing field stations either in the Santa Rita or the Baboquivari mountain ranges.

Knowing what to teach and possessing the confidence to deliver lessons in the natural environment can not only transform the learning experience for youth but inspire teachers as well! ITE offers a variety of Professional Development programs for your team of educators. Half-day urban programs to multi-day camping and backpacking programs. All ITE professional developments programs spend a significant time outdoors and include natural Science STEM curriculum, place-based pedagogy and outdoor teaching techniques. Educators from Science and Physical education to Art and Mathematics all benefit from this experience.
