Sky Island Field Stations

Florida Station in the Santa Rita Mountains and the Brown Canyon Education Center on the eastern flank of the Baboquivari Mountains and ancestrial homelands of the Tohono O’odham serve as springboards into wild and respctful study of these biodiverse mountain ranges. Rising up from the desert grasslands all the way up to pine forests, Florida Station and Brown Canyon Education Center, are managed by the US Forest Service and US Fish and Wildlife Service, and they host riparian forests and a biological treasure trove that inspires awe and inquiry. Students spend the night in these venues which serve as a base for studying biodiversity, bio-geography and ecology.
