Brown Canyon is a unique and remote canyon carved into the eastern flank of the Baboquivari Mountains. Rising up from the desert grasslands all the way up to pine woodlands this canyon managed by the US Fish and Wildlife Service, holds a riparian forest and a biological treasure trove that inspires awe and inquiry. Students spend the night in the Brown Canyon Environmental Education Center as a base for studying biodiversity, bio-geography and ecology.
The Santa Rita Mountains are a unique range in the archipelago of SE Arizona Sky Islands. Florida Station is a partner in connecting science students with the biodiversity of the region.
