Leadership begins with a dedicated, highly trained, passionate staff. Ironwood Tree Experience hires the right people; leaders who have expertise in experiential, outdoor education and who are one hundred percent committed to the youth we serve. In all that we do, we manage risk to provide the best team spirit necessary to maximize students’ field experiences and outdoor learning. Fourteen years of backcountry adventures and front country explorations with no serious injuries, is not luck, it the result of thorough planning, preparation and practice.
In 2005, Eric and Suzanne Dhruv co-founded Ironwood Tree Experience (ITE) and established it as a sponsored program of Prescott College. ITE operated successfully for eight years, serving youth from throughout southeastern Arizona. In November of 2013, Ironwood Tree Experience incorporated as an Arizona Non Profit Corporation. By its ninth year of operations, ITE became a 501c3 federal tax exempt nonprofit under the organizational name Youth Outdoor Experience.
